For this campaign, I focused on the animation industry, targeting professionals involved in the production pipeline of traditional, stop-motion, and 3D animation. Our key insights highlighted the growing demand for content, the need for original material, the importance of tool interoperability, and the necessity for effective training for junior artists. The objectives were to gain 14K new subscriptions for Maya and 3ds Max, achieve 12K new ShotGrid subscriptions, increase total ACV for Flex offerings to $3.2M, and improve retention rates by 2%. The campaign aimed to enhance creative excellence, boost operational efficiency, improve technical competence, and drive business growth, addressing the specific needs of our audience and supporting their creative, operational, and business goals.

Competitive Research

For this competitive research, I focused on understanding the Blender community to enhance Maya Creative's marketing efforts. This involved gaining insights into why Blender is gaining traction on platforms like YouTube and ArtStation, understanding Blender’s development and usage in the industry, and analyzing community perceptions towards Autodesk's content creation tools. The key question driving this research was why the community prefers Blender over Maya. The findings helped tailor our strategies to better resonate with the Blender community, addressing their preferences and concerns.

Creative Brief

This creative brief was developed to help Autodesk's Media & Entertainment achieve a 14% growth in the gaming sector globally by FY'25. Autodesk aims to improve its reputation among game developers, especially smaller AA and indie studios, who see it as slow and focused more on film/TV. The brief outlines strategies to position Autodesk as a creative ally with high-end tools like Maya and 3ds Max, ensuring studios can maintain their creative vision while meeting production needs. This initiative is crucial for expanding Autodesk's market reach and countering competition from Houdini, Blender, and Unreal.
